Meet Our Staff

Jean Baron
Director and Four's Class Teacher

Jean

Jean joined the Churchery Preschool in 1989 as a teacher in the 2's class after her children were in school full time. She later taught in the 3's and 4's classes. Jean became Director in 2018. She graduated from the University of Missouri/Columbia with a degree in Elementary Education. Jean has always been actively involved in the community. She was elected to the Farmington Board of Education and served on the board for 16 years. She served as chair of the Curriculum Committee, Facilities Committee and Transportation Committee as well as numerous other committees. Jean's passion is working with adoption and foster care in various capacities. She currently serves on the Farmington Juvenile Review Board and is co-chair of the LIST group which works with surrounding towns to help teens in need of medical health services.

Jean and her husband Andy live in Farmington where they raised their children. She enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoys cooking and eating out at local restaurants with friends and family and going to Broadway and local shows.

Susan Green
Three's & Four's Class

Ms. Susan began teaching at the Churchery Preschool in the late 1980’s. For several years she taught in the 2’s and 3’s classes. In 2020 Susan moved from teaching the 2’s class, to teaching the 4’s class, while still teaching in the 3's class.  She is also a teacher in the Supplemental classes. Susan worked for many summers with Avon’s summer leap preschool program. She also volunteered for several years with the after-school tutoring program in Hartford. Susan has volunteered with her church’s youth programs, where she has been a member for 37 years. Susan has her degree in Early Childhood Education. One of her greatest loves is working with young children and one of her greatest joys is spending time with her young grandchild.

Jessica Morin
Two's & Three's Class

Jessica

Ms. Jess was born and raised in Connecticut. She attended Northwestern Community College where she studied Early Childhood Education. It was during this time that she had her 3 children and stayed home to raise them. While raising her children she volunteered and participated in many activities. She taught religious education to her children helping them make their first communion. Jess enjoyed many years of being a Girl Scout leader and being involved in many different Farmington school activities.

When her children became more independent, she joined the Churchery Preschool where she has taught in the 2's class for the past 10 years. Jess loves working with young children, guiding and watching them blossom. She loves spending time with her family and going on new adventures. In her spare time, Jess loves attending concerts with her friends and family.

Jaclyn Pare
Pre-Kindergarten Class

Jaclyn is a previous Churchery Preschool mother. Jaclyn is our newest teacher and an amazing addition to our Churchery Preschool family She is teaching our new Pre-K class. Before staying home to raise her three sons, Jaclyn was a second grade teacher in Concord, MA. More recently she has been a kindergarten substitute teacher at Pine Grove School in Avon. Jaclyn has her master’s degree in education from Tufts University.
Jaclyn lives in Avon with her husband and three children. She enjoys spending time with her family and dog at the beach in Old Lyme as well as needlepoint.

Yuki

Yuki Sobue
Three's & Four's Class

Ms. Yuki began her teaching career at the Churchery Preschool in 2016 teaching in the 3's and 4's classes. She focuses on integrating Music and Movement and Art to enhance each child’s educational experience. Previously, she taught first through sixth grade in Japan. She also taught at the Montessori School in New Rochelle, NY. Ms. Yuki earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Economics from NYU Stern School of Business.

Ms. Yuki has two daughters, who are now teenagers, and are graduates of the Churchery Preschool. She lives in Avon with her husband, daughters, and poodle. Ms. Yuki enjoys painting, origami, dancing and traveling around the world.

Jennifer Lamoureux
Three's & Two's Class

Ms. Jenn joined the Churchery Preschool in 2021 and is currently teaching in the 2's class. Jenn worked at Educational Play Care (EPC) in Farmington as Head Teacher for the one and two year-old programs. She was also the Assistant Director. Jenn was at EPC until her daughter was born. She took a break from teaching to raise her daughter. Jenn received her bachelor’s degree in psychology as well as an associate’s degree in early childhood education from Bay Path College in Longmeadow, MA.

Jenn lives in Farmington. She attends the Memorial United Methodist Church where she is the Superintendent of the Sunday school program. She likes to travel, go to the beach, hike and spend time with her family.
